April is here, what is on our minds? These days, no one thinks of April Fool's Day though when we were in school that was some thrill we got when we gave an unpopular teacher a bug-laden chair to sit on. In those days we used the same chairs. Teachers these days use high-class office furniture but in those days we could easily swop our chairs for theirs and no one would know the difference. A quarter of a year has whizzed us by and we wake up to another new day where sometimes I get a funny, sinking feeling of emptiness. But, West Coast Park is still in tip-top condition, thanks to the ever-present park maintenance team that keep the park in such a pristine, immaculate condition according to the high standards set for park maintenance. I would hate to imagine what would become of this beautiful park the day these hardworking men and women quit coming. Right now, the park is still lovely and I have photos here to prove it:I dedicate this blog to Mr Lee Kuan Yew, our first Prime Minister, who planted the first tree on 16 June 1963 to launch the tree-planting campaign in Singapore. What follows is a flourishing island of greenery and beautiful parks that I now have the privilege of enjoying. I will walk the parks with you in my heart. Thank you very much Mr Lee!

West Coast Park on the second day of April
