Labrador Park - While the carpark is still free of charge

The carpark at Labrador Park is still free but not for long. Whatever reason we offer or plea we make will fall on deaf ears because of the mentality that nothing is for free and everything we have or are given is a privilege and not a right so don't grumble because the choice has been made. So people write sporadic letters to the forum pages in the Straits Times to bring forth their concerns about the chargeable carparks at our parks and the newspaper has a half a page write-up about how several park carparks are no longer free and give us a list of them. Who will care enough and at the same time have the clout to make a decent amendment that we can park free for at least 2 hours before we get charged. Who? I thank one Mr Lee for giving us a legacy of a garden city but should I thank another one for making me pay to enjoy what the other one has given. I understand that the charges are imposed to keep out people who abuse the car parks but I sure would be grateful if someone sees how ridiculous such an idea is to genuine park visitors and there are many of us around who feel this way.
