Garden by the Bay - Tulipmania

An air-conditioned dome with temperatures adjusted to suit the requirements of temperate as well as desert plants. It is not a walk in the park in the true sense of the phrase but it is a stroll in an artificially created environment where you get to enjoy plants and even trees that are not likely to thrive in our climate. That was my visit to the Flower Dome, one of the two highlights of the Garden by the Bay on Sunday. Most people were drawn to the Flower Dome by the special display of Tulips of many colours and shapes. But tulips are tulips and after a while there is too much uniformity to hold my attention fully. There are other flowers that are more interesting in appearance and more fragrant than tulips and I could not help but got distracted by them.

Tulips occupied the centrestage of the Flower Dome.

Flowers with five or more petals.

Flowers that are unique in shape or colour.

Cacti big and small.
