From a distance of 100 meters or so, I spotted a flash of orange. A fluttering movement amongst the dried up branches and suddenly a bird diving into the water to catch a fish. It was not a successful attempt and the bird, a Stork-billed Kingfisher, returned to its perch shaking off the water from its back and tried another time to get a fish. Not succeeding again, it proceeded to groom its feathers in a methodical manner and then flew off to the top of a tree where I got a pretty decent shot of it with my Lumix TZ40.![]() |
