Springleaf Park creatures

It was our third trip to Springleaf Park last Sunday.  The morning was scorching hot. I had to use a huge umbrella to protect myself from the sun's merciless rays and I must have looked like I got lost looking for a golf course. Anyway the insects that we were seeking must have been affected by the heat as well and other than the resilient dragonflies and damselflies along the banks of the leisurely flowing Seletar river, they were missing in action. There was minimal flying activity amongst the tall grass and shrubs and we were again disappointed with the no-show in the insect kingdom. However, our visit was not entirely boring as other creatures made unexpected appearances.
