Wallace Trail - Still hopeful about finding more insects

Wallace Trail in the Dairy Farm Nature Park always holds the hope that we have lost with other parks when it comes to looking for insects. Two years ago, this park was flourishing with a variety of insects and common insects like wasps, flies and fruit flies were in abundance. Now, there is a sadness each time we leave this park for most of the time we leave without the interesting encounters with these tiny creatures that we had before. We can only hope and pray that this is only a temporary phenomena and believe that one day the insects will return. Hope and belief are not enough. This state of affairs has to be investigated and researched into, something that we are unable to carry out. We just hope that the few insects that we saw today are not about to fade into extinction in a few years' time. Meanwhile, this nature park is still a delight to visit and Wallace Trail or part of it still open to walkers like us is still wilder than the landscaped parks that we also frequent.
