Labrador Park on National Day

Labrador Park was an after-thought, after we had gone to the Marina Barrage hoping to walk along the sea front in a new quest for insects. We got as far as the car-park entrance to be met by the 'Carpark Full' sign. There was no need to feel frustrated as I had anticipated this situation and time being short as we had a lunch appointment, we decided to just settle for Labrador Park which was on our route back home. At Labrador Park, insect life was dismal as usual though we always habour the optimisim that one unique insect that we had never seen before was lurking somewhere amongst the vegetation. Sadly we were not rewarded with this elusive creature today. However, it was a cool morning and the park was pleasant enough to walk around in. We even caught a fleeting glimpse of the Black Knights on their way to their aerial display.
A common wasp.
I have no idea what this is. Only used it to test my camera's focusing.
Three mushrooms, the only ones spotted today.

So much vegetation and yet insects were scarce.
A gun pointing in the wrong direction during WW2.

Okay, this one was pretty unusual but we have seen it before.
A cicada grew too big for this.

Ants at loggerheads. Seems to be a territorial exercise.

Ah ha!

Hello, so how are you?

Ladybug snug and a little lost.

Curls and whirls in the air.

A spider that would probably starve to death waiting for prey.
Wild orchid bloom.
Ginger specie.

One of the very fruitful fishtail palms in the park.

Ixoras bloom for SG50.

Don't go near the Nibong Palm for this reason.

We do have grassland in Singapore.

Its a tiny spider.

The Black Knights flying off to their last performance at noon.
