A warm Saturday morning at Labrador Park and the light was not good for photography. Still being there was planned and it was no point leaving on account of the humidity. So we took a short walk around the park hoping to find some signs of insect life and since I did not bring my camera, I relied on my handphone to capture the general scenery and turned my attention on the tall, majestic trees in Labrador Park. In between, there were distractions like the bright fruits of the palm trees, a gigantic spider suspended high above our heads, a huge fungus amongst some shrubs and the sound of the lapping waves.
I dedicate this blog to Mr Lee Kuan Yew, our first Prime Minister, who planted the first tree on 16 June 1963 to launch the tree-planting campaign in Singapore. What follows is a flourishing island of greenery and beautiful parks that I now have the privilege of enjoying. I will walk the parks with you in my heart. Thank you very much Mr Lee!
